Ground Water Recharge with Organic Farming

Organic Farming

What is Organic Farming?

Organic farming is a system that avoids or largely excludes the use of synthetic inputs (such as fertilizers, pesticides,
hormones feed additives, etc.) and to the maximum extent feasible rely upon crop rotations, crop residues, animal
manures, off-farm organic waste, mineral grade rock additives and biological system of nutrient mobilization and plant
protection.

NEED

  • An increase in population makes compulsion to stabilize, increase & improve agricultural production in the globalized market.
  • A natural balance needs to be maintained at all costs for the existence of life and property.
  • Global water crisis.
  • Agrochemicals are produced from fossil fuel and are not renewable and are diminishing in availability.
  • Synthetics may also cost heavily on our foreign exchange in future.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS

  • Protecting the long-term fertility of soils by maintaining organic levels, encouraging soil biological activity, and retains supplied water for a longer period of time.
  • Begins Natural process of groundwater recharge with the help of “Earthworms”.
  • Providing crop nutrients indirectly using relatively insoluble (अघुलनशील) nutrient sources which are made available to the plant by the action of soil micro-organisms (Make Soil nutrient rather than plant).

PROJECT AND BY-PROJECTS

Main Project :

  • Organic Farming

By-project :

  • Animal Herd (Dairy Industry)
  • Bio-Gas Plant
  • Water Supply Plant
  • Organic Farming Contracts
  • Organic Fertilizer & Pesticides Manufacturing
  • Mini Power Plant (Bio-Gas & Solar)
  • Packaging Unit

FIGURES AND FACTS

After growing MILLET as an experiment, We could derive the following figures for the project analysis. MILLET was simply the safest Material available for the experiment, So we chose to MILLET.

TOTAL DURATION : 120 DAYS, in 1 BIGHA

NUTRITION CHART OF OUR MILLET

CONCLUSIONS:

  • Almost half water consumption in comparison with chemicalized / petroleum farming.
  • As per the studies, the project is very cost-efficient if We plan it on a larger scale.
  • We were able to achieve a minimum 1: 400 Seed output ratio for MILLET, which is a good sign.
  • Support Infrastructure / BY PROJECTS will reduce the cost of total production & will generate additional income for us.
  • Study shows that Cost of fertilizer & pesticides is almost ₹. 250 for 1 season.
  • The project requires more sincere effort by the government to encourage ORGANIC FARMING.
  • Buyers are willing to buy the product.
  • The selling price is higher than chemicalized MILLET.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Water supply system
  • Electricity setup ( Based on Bio-gas, solar and conventional )
  • Supervisors cum labor
  • Fertilizer and Pesticides production system
  • Storage premises ( for large scale projects )
  • Farm tool-kits
  • Transportation system ( internal and external )
  • Crops cleaning and packaging system for branding
  • Sales & Marketing professional system and team
  • Animal herd or supply of cow dung and urine

BENEFITS:

  • Less Water Consumption in comparison of Chemicalized farming
  • The natural process of Drilling earth by “Earthworms” helps in the retention of water in FARMLAND & also supply access water to groundwater tables.
  • Cost-Effective
  • Better Price
  • Additional Business Opportunities of by-products
  • Self reliance of farmers

BIO-GAS PLANT

  • Establishing a BG Plant with cylinder refiling system & Pipeline Supply
  • Fertilizers & Pesticides Manufacturing in the same plant.
  • Electricity Generation.
  • Oraganic waste management system.

BASIC STEPS REQUIRED FROM GOVERNMENT

  • Establishing a separate SALES Network for ORGANIC PRODUCTS
  • Timely execution of all GOVT plans & projects
  • Timely Allotment of funds, Insurance & Subsidies
  • Timely Allotment of GUIDE team for WATER MANAGEMENT
  • Timely Allocation of resources for RAIN WATER MANAGEMENT
  • International Certifications for EXPORTS
  • GOVT should plan to convert at least 25% of FARMLAND to ORGANIC system for meeting MINIMUM WATER MANAGEMENT Requirements.
  • MAJORITY OF FARMERS ARE AWARE OF REASONS TO AVOID UREA, DAP & CHEMICHALIZED PESTICIDES, BUT THEY NEED OUR SUPPORT.
